This Cookie Policy explains how Heart of the Rockies Management Consulting, LLC (“HotRMC”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on hotrmc.com. It describes each category of cookie, how long they are retained, and how you can grant or withdraw your consent at any time.

This policy is part of our broader Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Cookie Categories

We group cookies into three categories. All non-essential categories are off by default until you explicitly opt in.

• Essential — Required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your consent choice). These cannot be turned off and are set as soon as you interact with the site. Retention: up to 12 months.
• Analytics — Help us understand which pages are visited and how the site is used so we can improve it. Off by default. Retention: up to 14 months (the maximum allowed by common analytics providers).
• Marketing — Reserved for future use. Off by default. We do not sell your personal information, and no marketing cookies are set today.

How Consent Works

When you first visit the site, a cookie banner presents three clear choices:

• Accept all — grants every category.
• Reject all — grants only Essential; all others off.
• Manage preferences — lets you toggle each category individually.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser under a versioned key (hotrmc:consent:v1). We do not transmit your consent record to a backend; it lives only in your browser’s local storage.

Withdrawing Consent

You can change your cookie settings at any time:

• Click the shield icon in the bottom-left corner of any page to reopen the preferences panel.
• Use the “Cookie Preferences” link in the site footer.
• Clear your browser’s local storage for hotrmc.com, which resets your consent and re-prompts the banner.

Withdrawing consent stops any non-essential scripts from loading on future visits. Previously set analytics cookies may remain in your browser until they expire or you clear them.

Consent Versioning

Our consent record carries a version number (currently v1). When this Cookie Policy materially changes, we increment the version. On your next visit, the banner reappears so you can review and re-confirm your choices. Minor clarifications that do not change the categories or retention periods do not trigger a re-prompt.

Third-Party Cookies

We do not currently embed third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or social plugins that set cookies before consent. If we add such services in the future, they will be gated by the corresponding consent category and described here.

Your Browser Controls

In addition to our consent controls, most browsers let you manage cookies directly via their settings. Disabling all cookies may affect site functionality. See your browser’s help documentation for details.
